Suzanne de Goede has decided to quit cycling at the end of the current season. The 28-year-old Dutchwoman will retire after being in the peloton for fourteen years. From next year on De Goede will focus on her new job as all-round police head officer.

“The last two years I enjoyed riding for Team Skil-Argos very much. I’m glad I can end my career at this team. I want to thank all the people who supported me in the last fourteen years. Especially my family and partner.”

In her career De Goede knew many beautiful moments. She became World Champion at junior level and became elite Dutch champion on the road and in the time trial. In addition, she was second in the 2008 World Cup for elite women and got twice elected as cyclist of the year. These are the highlights of a very long list of achievements.
