Middlekerke, on the north coast of Belgium as the scene for the last round of the Super Prestige cyclo-cross. I don’t get to start many of these races, so it was a nice surprise to get a call mid week to say I was on the start.
It’s a fun course; nothing too taxing. It was about minus 4 billion last year. I wore most of my clothes and my contact lenses froze to my eyes. It wasn’t a good look, but because of the contact lenses issue, I couldn’t see, so I didn’t care. Today was mild though, 7 degrees and motivation was high.
